Sentinel's armor worth getting?
im thinkin about getting either 1k or 15k sunspear sentinel's armor and im wondering if the 100 armor is necessary in PvE (especially fow and doa) and worth the money and the 13 str req.

I'd say getting Sentry (the +10AL in stance armour i think) is better. You don't limit yourself to 13 strength and you give yourself 110 vs Physical with 90 vs Ele instead of 100 vs all.

Well, its never going to be "necessary" for anything, PvE or otherwise. Your skill bar and abilities as a player make a much bigger difference whether or not you can tank in Domain of Anguish or the Fissure of Woe. If you intend to use 13 Strength and want the very best vs. Elemental protection a warrior can get, then yeah, its for you.

sential is the worst armour in the game. build restriction. many wands deal chaos damage, dark damage and light damage which dun trigger the +20 vs ele bonus its good only if its +20 vs universal damage giving u unconditional 100 armour at 13 str
if not dun waste ur time

While this is absolutely true, wands/staves are hardly the main source of damage for a warrior (or anyone...) and secondly, these damage types will bypass pretty any other armor as easily as it will Sentinel. That alone is a pretty poor argument against Sentinel armor. On top of that, Fire and Cold damage is perhaps even more common than Light or Dark for Monk and Necromancer staves.
Sentinel armor is meant as the "I want to focus on elemental damage" armor, and it is indeed the only Warrior armor providing 100 AL against it. It doesn't claim to be good against Dark or Light damage.

I perfer to use dreadnoughts myself, although currelty im using 15 gladiator's with the vabbian leg piece as it looks better, going to be getting a set of ancient to allow me to go back to dreadnoughts if needed i think.
shame we can't put inscriptions on proph armour

Sorry, but if you're getting killed by casters wanding you to death then delete your warrior now because you obviously suck at it.
The only time i'd say Sentinels might be a good idea is for farming builds. 1 that comes to mind is the W/D Scythe build that uses 14+ Strength, but even then i'd say Sentry's is better because its mainly the physical damage your facing.

i'd never ever even remotely consider running 13 str, so sentinel's is pure crap imo.
i stick to gladiator's or berserker's, +nrg and +HP is all you'll ever need imo, then again, i mostly play pvp, and i can imagine +AL might just come in usefull in pve. however, the attribute requirement makes this +AL horrible

jus to clear up the misunderstanding i am merely stating examples that would by pass the +20 ele mods. i am not implying that a warrior can be kill by a caster's wand. i also mentioned build restriction. Pls read posts with care not read between the lines

For doa tanking though, in which case you'll have w/e obsidian flesh 12 earth 13+ strength. Would Sentinel's make any difference than say gladiators?

Please don't make sweeping generalisations regarding armour. There is no such thing as a "Worst" top-level armour in GW (except for Crystal Desert Collector's armour of course).
This fact is getting stated so much recently, I think it should be made into a banner at the top of the forum:
Different items suit different circumstances. What may not work for one build may shine in another. Therefore, be flexible or be obsolete.

really i beleive it is up to the idividual and i recomend multiple armor sets anyway and as far as sentinals i love it and always use it because i run 15/16 weapon and 13 str so it is perfect for me look at your own builds and style of play and decide

pls try to take every input with good faith. I believe this thread is democreatic enough to accept all sort of construstive critisism. As long as no 1 here is verbally assulted i think we are all moving in the right direction. I believe every1 here are matured adults
thks and god bless
my dislike for sential armour still remain though lol

But the necro collectors armour looks so cool!
And they're insanely cheap compared to Droks!

It's not worth getting because it's either a broken bonus (crafted in faction) or a very expensive insigna (crafted in nightfall).

Acctually Sentinals Armor requires 14 to be fully effective, unless you are sure that you will not be suffering from weakness.
Even without any strength requirement at all, I would still not prefer this armor.

Ain't that the truth. 6 1/2 months and the bug still isn't fixed.
